1. Time
2. Tasks
3. Calendar
Our approach
Most productivity tools focus on the planning process to drive increased productivity. But, we think that you probably make decent plans, but struggle to execute them. Huh, executive dysfunction I guess. With this mind, we’re building Fixate in 3 phases: Time, To-Do, and Scheduling.
-
The best plan in the world won’t be successful if you’re unable to execute it because you don’t know what time it is. We’re focusing on keeping track of time first with a variety of tools to help you visualize, track, and understand the passage of time. This should help you execute the plan you make and reduce time anxiety/waiting mode.
*** Romeove? Most productivity apps focus on planning. They’ll help you schedule things all day long, but that doesn’t help much if you have no concept of how long things take or how much time has passed. We’re starting by building tools to help you keep track of time and its passing. It doesn’t matter how good your plan is if you wanted to start at 2:00 but didn’t realize it’s 3:15 already or you thought it would take and hour but really it takes 3.
Time Tools:
Chime Timer: Notifies you after a set amount of time so you can keep track. Get notified every 5 minutes in the shower so you don’t zone out, or tell you every 15 minutes while playing video games so you don’t “______________” and spend 5 hours instead of 2 recharging.
Alarms: Reimagined alarms with easy duplication, built in math turn off, and easy creation of pre-alarms without creating 5 new alarms every day. ****add about pre-alarm continuity?
Timer + Tracker: Visual timer with options to help ensure you don’t forget what the timer was for, and a tracker to help you understand what you spend your tome doing.
Notifiers: Simple alarms to remember to clock back in to work, start going to bed, remember a weekly meeting, or anything else you want to remember but don’t need an alarm for.
Pomodoro: Visual Pomodoro timer to help manage your work and rest cycles.
Time Database: Compiles how long things take you for quick reference so you know if you have time to shower right now, how long the dishes will take to do later, or what time to start getting ready for a date.
Time Budget: Track where your time goes, and set goals for how much time to spend in different areas of your life then work towards making those goals reality.
